McKenzie Estate Regeneration Project - Rhu

McKenzie Estate in Rhu is an established area of military housing near to the Faslane Naval Base in Argyll and Bute. Over the years the estate had become rather tired aesthetically and was in need of considerable refurbishment for the Royal Navy personnel based there.

James Strang Ltd undertook works to 27 of the homes within the estate, commencing works on the occupied properties in November 2013. Despite difficult wintery weather conditions, the houses were re-roofed and covered with a new insulated render system to greatly enhance their energy efficiency.

Extensive landscaping works were also undertaken with gardens re-shaped and new fences erected, in what developed into a complete visual overhaul of the estate. Works were completed in early May 2014 although phased handing over of houses had been on-going throughout the project.
